Who We Are

Clarity Clinical Laboratory is an independent laboratory that provides comprehensive drug testing, medication monitoring and support services. Using the highest industry standards for initial profile analysis and confirmatory procedures, we provide testing for drugs used for abuse as well as therapeutic purposes. We take pride in the integrity of our business, testing methodologies and policy ethics.

What We Do

Clarity offers comprehensive urine screening protocols and reports, enabling healthcare providers to treat their patients more effectively and monitor their compliance with greater ease and simplicity.

Highlights:

  1. Specimens are analyzed on the most advanced LCMS equipment for over 80 substances of possible abuse. This technology helps us provide rapid turnaround times and the most accurate interpretations.
  2. Clarity’s quantitative drug testing provides a comprehensive picture of where the patients are within their treatment stages by reporting exact measures of drugs in their systems.
  3. The reports, available on a Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)-compliant secure web portal, are available immediately after final review. The report is short, concise and intuitive. For quicker access to reports, we can also link our LIMS to most clinic electronic medical records (EMRs).
  4. The clinic only needs to collect the specimen, complete the requisition form and ship the specimen – along with insurance information if applicable – to our facility in the addressed and prepaid FedEx clinical shipping pack. Our goal is to complete all tests and have reports available within 48-to-72 hours.
  5. Clarity is committed to maintaining the highest testing and customer service standards.

Our Customers

Pain management: About 50 million people suffer from chronic pain, and an additional 25 million suffer from acute pain, which translates to $100 billion yearly for pain treatment. Lost productivity is estimated to be $60 billion, and the societal impacts are immeasurable. The major drugs that are available for pain management have limitations and a high potential for abuse or misuse. Clinical guidelines have been published to assist providers in managing the treatment of patients with chronic non-cancer pain. Clarity is committed to being part of the solution for reducing prescription drug abuse and improving the standard of care for all patients taking prescribed medications.

Primary care / internal medicine: Physicians are finding it more critical to perform UDS drug screenings on each patient they treat. Patients who are taking medications can forget to mention many of them during interviews or exams. Drug-to-drug interactions are thus becoming more common. UDS supports more complete management of a patient’s treatment routine and helps increase their quality of life.

Women’s health: Quantitative drug testing provides a comprehensive picture by reporting exact measurements of drugs in the system, and is an important piece of protecting the overall health and well-being of current and future mothers. Patient education with a clear treatment plan makes the process much easier and increases the chances of a healthy mother delivering a healthy baby. Women’s healthcare professionals make it their mission to support quality patient care for women who are planning to get pregnant, are already pregnant or are postpartum.

Why Perform Definitive Toxicology testing?

  • Identify a specific substance or metabolite that is inadequately detected by a presumptive UDT
  • Definitively identify specific drugs in a large family of drugs
  • Identify a specific substance or metabolite that is not detected by presumptive UDT, such as fentanyl, meperidine, synthetic cannabinoids and other synthetic/analog drugs
  • Identify drugs when a definitive concentration of a drug is needed to guide management (such as discontinuation of THC use according to a treatment plan)
  • Identify a negative (or confirm a positive) presumptive UDT result that is inconsistent with a patient’s self-report, presentation, medical history or current prescribed pain medication plan
  • Rule out an error as the cause of a presumptive UDT result
  • Identify non-prescribed medication or illicit use for ongoing safe prescribing of controlled substances
  • Use results in a differential assessment of medication efficacy, side effects or drug-to-drug interactions
